Who am I?
Hi all,
My name is Eimear Cassidy and I am the owner and founder of the Wicklow Whisk Cookery School. Disclaimer….I am not originally from Wicklow ☹. I did however, fall in love with the county over the last number of years and have recently bought a house and moved here.
I am a very proud Cavan girl at heart...hence the blue logo and theme. A nod to my Cavan roots!! I left the lake county in 2006 and trained to become a Home Ec Teacher at St. Angela’s College Sligo. Four very tough years, but I made some amazing friends and now have my dream job. Upon completion I secured my first Teaching Job in CBS Westland Row and started in Mount Carmel Secondary School, Dublin 1 in August 2011. I am now part of the furniture there and have an Assistant Principal Post. I currently teach all year groups Home Economics 1st – 6th year, TY and Leaving Certificate Applied. I am also Year Head to 5th Year Students and co-ordinate Student Voice and Leadership within the school.
I have a passion for food, education and creativity. I feel it is imperative to foster from a young age a love of food, baking and being resourceful. (A true Cavan girl). In this day and age ,it is vital young people can make informed decisions about food and nutrition and have the ability to make their own delicious home cooked meals.
Please join me and tell all your friends about ‘The Wicklow Whisk’ .
My motto.....Bake it....til you make it!!
